Homebased Portland

This past weekend I teased you a little bit about a new project that I have been working on with my friend Meg.

Well – Meg and I have started a new blog together.   Yes, another blog!!

This blog was inspired by some of you.  Since I began Your Homebased Mom I have periodically received emails from some of you who were traveling to Portland/Oregon asking for ideas and suggestions of places to go and things to see.

I also know that there are a lot of you out there who live right here in Portland and like me are always looking for fun new places to explore by yourself or with your family.    Too often we think we have to go away and spend a lot of money to enjoy ourselves.

You can get away without getting away!

Having lived in the Portland area for  27 years I know the area pretty well.  We love Oregon and pretty much think we live in the best place on earth!

So what better way to share the places I love here in Portland than through a blog.  I invited my friend Meg to join me in this new venture.

Meg and I are both moms, wives and homebased business owners.   Meg is the mother of two adorable, energetic preschoolers and I am very quickly approaching the empty nest season of life.  While in different chapters of  motherhood the two of use  have a lot in common.

We both love being moms!

We love spending time with our children, finding new places to explore and creating memorable experiences for our family. Oh yeah – and we both love good food! We both love living in Portland and agree that Oregon is one of the most beautiful places to live and explore!

We have combined our love of family, discovering new places, enjoying good food and Oregon into a fun new blog – HomeBased Portland –  a place where we will share our top local places to – see – eat – play!

Each week we will share one new place to see, place to eat and place to play.

Not only will we be sharing our favorites but we’d love to hear from you too.  What are your favorite places to see, eat and play in Portland/Oregon?

Is there some place you think we should feature? Just leave us a comment or contact us through our contact form on the blog.

If you live in Portland/Oregon we hope you will subscribe to the blog and enjoy learning more about the area. If you don’t live in the area sign up anyway. You will get to enjoy some of Meg’s amazing photography and if you ever have the opportunity to come to Oregon you will know just where to go.

Also ,we would love it if you would share this new blog with your friends and family!  We hope to reach lots of Portland area families to help inspire and motivate them to begin exploring all the amazing places we have to see – eat – play!

We will also be accepting advertising from Portland/Oregon businesses so if you own a business or know of someone who does please share our new site with them.  We have limited advertising space available.  You can contact us through the contact form for rates etc.

We look forward to Homebased Portland being the premiere site for places to see – eat  – play!

So click on over and check it out.  Let me know what you think!

Yeah! As you know, I have been looking you for Portland visiting/travel advice for a while now! Okay, here is a question for your blog (I couldn’t get logged on to Homebased Portland). If I only had time to hit one Farmer’s Market on Saturday, which is the best one?

Congratulations! Wish I lived closer to take full advantage of your knowledge. The link would not work for me for some reason?

Sounds great–can’t wait to come visit and check out places you will suggest. I’ve tried dozens of times and can’t get on either.

What a great idea! I have always wanted to move to Oregon — I’ve never been there but the photos I’ve seen have made me fall in love with it! I look forward to checking out the blog and learning about all the great things to see and do. My hubby and I have wanted to visit the Portland area for a vacation for some time now! This will be the perfect resource for helping us plan a trip! Thanks!!!

I’m super excited about this new blog. Even though I live in Wisconsin, my in-laws live in Portland so now I’ll have a whole list of things to see and do when we visit them (and get them to eat somewhere other than Village Inn!).
