I love your holiday traditions! My husband wants to start up a tradition of going caroling every Christmas with neighbors, including a night of warm soup and hot cocoa. When you have your get-togethers each year (i.e. breakfast with Santa & soup night), do you invite the same people every time, or is it always different families/couples each year? I always wonder what would be best to do if we were to start something like that…

I answered Rachel in a personal email but thought I would answer here too so others could see. For our New Years party it is pretty much the same people – the couples from church that are around our age . (although new people who move into our church during the year are invited too – so it changes a little each year) Our neighborhood Breakfast with Santa is always the three neighbor families that share our cul de sac with us.

I have to admit that the best clam chowder I ever had was in San Francisco. I wish I could replicate it, but I’ve honestly never cooked with clams and I’ve always doubted that since we don’t live on either coast I could ever make a good clam chowder recipe! I saw you used canned clams in this recipe and the pictures look soooo incredibly good that I’m putting this on my “to make list!” :)

I can’t seem to pull up the recipe for the Sausage and Tortellin soup?
