Today I am excited to introduce you to a new Etsy shop and sponsor of Your Homebased Mom. You know how I love Etsy, in fact I love it so much I opened my own Etsy shop!
When Beki of the Rusted Chain contacted me about sponsoring a giveaway here on the blog and being a sponsor I was so excited. Beki makes beautiful personalized jewelry and I knew she would be the perfect one to make my Word of the Year necklace!
As you may remember, my word of the year is really not a word but rather a prefix – Re. I was a little worried about how strange it may look on a necklace but when it arrived, wrapped up so pretty from The Rusted Chain, I loved it!
I didn’t realize how many freckles I had until I saw this photo! Freckles and all the necklace is beautiful!!
Here’s a necklace with Beki’s word of the year – Soar. What a great word.
Wouldn’t you love a pretty necklace with your word of the year engraved on it?!

Please welcome Beki of The Rusted Chain to Your Homebased Mom!
Beki Hastings began making custom jewelry in 2003. Since that time, her products have been featured in various parenting magazines, Pediped shoe advertisements, Law and Order Criminal Intent, and are sold in local upscale boutiques and internationally.
Her designs feature the best of timeless elegance and trendy looks, with the end result being quality jewelry that will look as new and fresh years from now as it does today. Each piece is custom made using sterling silver, natural stones, and the finest components. Her products include hand stamped jewelry, earrings, brooches, and hair accessories.
Beki is also a photographer and blogger. She lives in Kansas with her husband, and her three children, a daughter, aged 9, and two sons ages 8 and 3. A former flight attendant, Beki is truly enjoying being home with her children. Being a designer is, she says, the best way for her to remain home with her family and still have a creative outlet.
Be sure and leave your comment and let us know your word of the year!!
This giveaway will be open through Friday, Feb. 19th at midnight PST.

I’d pick “precious” to remind me to never neglect those who are precious to me.
As I’m raising my 5 month old twin boys, I can’t help but think my word should be diaper or bottle or binky
But the more I think about the year to come I would like my word to be STOP…
I want to STOP each day and cuddle my cute boys
I want to STOP each day and kiss my husband
I want to STOP each day and play with the dog
I want to STOP each day and read my scriptures
I want to STOP each day and thank my Heavenly Father
My word is GIVE.
Brandi
Dream or maybe believe.
My word would be “dance”. It’s from the song “I Hope You Dance”. My grandma, who is (besides my husband) my soul mate – she was everything creative, passed when I was 15 from Alzheimer’s disease. I know if she had words of wisdom to give me it would have been all the words from that song. So I would love to have the heart wings with the word “dance”, and the pearl symbolizing the “pearls of wisdom”. Thanks!!
Hmmm my word of the year LOVE …. I’ve commited to show more Love to all around me this year, especially my husband and 3 kids…and now we are taking a step of Love and moving forward with fostering…and I can’t help but think Its God’s Love that we will be sharing with these Foster babies, and our own kids as well….So my word is LOVE!
Gina
I love Beki’s “Bliss” necklace…I’ve heard the phrase, “if you want to be happy, be. ” The word “bliss” reminds me that I can be happy, if I choose to be.
My word for the year is Faith. I have been through some things this past year that I would not have made it through quite as easily if it hadn’t of been for my Faith in God.
This is a great giveaway…thanks! I was excited to see that she is from Kansas because that is where I live.
My word would be Family!

I have two words first is Discipline, Discipline to get it DONE. The 2nd (and what I would write on my necklace) is Dedicate. Dedicate myself to my family, beautifying my home, developing lasting friendships and serving the Lord.
~Grace ~
It’s not only in my name, but it is the unmerited, overflowing, amazing love of God flowing over my family’s life! His GRACE abounds towards me! <3
My word of the year is “soft” as in Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turneth away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger.” I need to work on my tone of voice and the way I communicate with people.
My word of the year is Family
My word is..
KALOKAIRI – it means summer and I can hardy wait!!!
Plus it’s just a fun word.
My word is Patience.
Friends.
At first I was going to say my word would be endure, but I have changed it to remember. That may be too long, but it is my word. I was chosing endure because some days I have to remind my self that, endure to the end. When my fifth child was born I had four children two years old and younger. It was rough and tough, but during those tough moments I always remind myself how much fun I am having during it all and someday I will think back to these times and not think of the chaos, but remember the beauty of it all. So remember it is!
My word is LOVE. I choose this word because of a definition of LOVE that I just recently found. It has inspired me in many ways. Love: To joyfully put the welfare of others above your own.

My word of the year is simply: LOVE. Love others, both family and neighbors.
My word is “faith”…faith in yourself, faith in God, faith in change….faith.
I love the necklace….great idea!
My word for the year is Smile.
My word is “whatever.” I sometimes use it sarcastically, but I am expanding its use to mean I am open to WHATEVER happens at work and with family; I’m willing to try WHATEVER new thing comes my way, just for the sake of trying something new; and I can go WHATEVER direction I choose!!
Love the necklaces – also the earrings on Becki’s website – thanks for another great giveaway!
So cute!
I would pick the initials of my two babies instead of a word.
T&P

This is a year of CHANGE for me! Positive CHANGE.
My word comes from the 6 “B’s” Therefore my word is “BE” be grateful, be prayerful, be humble, be clean, be true, be smart. These are what I am working on this year.
Hi Leigh Anne, after a year of dispondancy and negativity at work (I’m a teacher) and set-backs in my family life, I decided to tackle 2010 face-on in a positive and meaningful manner. I adopted the word “Positive” as my mantra for this year – and so far, so good
Kind regards – Dawn
I LOVE this necklace! My word is BELIEVE – Believe in myself and believe in God. Thanks for the opportunity!
My word is adventure. As in life should be an adventure. Live it every day.
both of our wonderful children decided to get married last year. so 2009 was alittle crazy and filled with wonderful planning and amazing results. but it kind of took a tole on ol’ Mom and Dad.
so we decided our word for the year is: fun
time to reconnect and have more fun for us.

My word is New…This year I’m striving to try things NEW to me. New foods, new recipes, going to new places, meeting new people, being in the moment when my kids do and realize new things in life. When/if someone asks me why my necklace says NEW, I’ll tell them, I’m wearing something NEW!! Love this jewelry…Thanks LA & Beki.
my word is “shine”
I love this idea! I can’t think of one word, but I love the quote from Meet the Robinsons (yes, quoting Disney movies!), “Keep Moving Forward”.
