I too read about this 5 o'clock club a long time back . This is a time to rejuvenate and refocus. This is a very auspicious time to meditate for the mind is very awake, alert and aware. This is when ones transformation begins.

Hello!

I just read this post today even though it is quite some time after you actually posted it. I was trying to do a little research on the 5 o'clock club and found it. I am very interested in doing something similar for myself. I hope that it all worked out for you!

This is so cool... I wrote a post about this 5 o'clock club a little while ago, too: http://racheljensen.net/blog/?p=31. I love waking up early to get extra things done before the kids get up.

There is also a link in that same post to a spreadsheet I adapted called the "Weekly Plan Sheet." It helps SO MUCH to look at your ideal week at a glance... to see how much time you really do have in a week (especially if you join this club! :o)

I just found your blog through a friend that knows someone related to you...can't remember all the ins and outs of that, but anyway I just had to comment on this one. My running partner and I just finally joined the 5:15 club. (5:00 is waaaaaay too early ; )!) After months of trying to foist our kids off on someone, or going late at night, we just came to the conclusion that early morning is the most logical time to run. And as painful as it is to get out of bed that early, I find that I love the kick start it gives my day. My 9 month old is frequently awake by the time I get back at 6:30, so I get to have snuggle time just with her before the other kids wake up. Now, if I could just get my night owl side to chill out so I could get in bed before 11 life would be great.

P.S. - I'm drooling all over your recipes. The cream cheese lemon bars are high on the list to make very, very soon.

I thought I'd add....for some reason it feels better to get that extra hour in the morning, vs getting that hour at night by going to bed later than usual. I believe you are more productive in those early hours...
