This week my photography class assignment had to do with light so you are going to see a few of the pretty pictures I took of the light in my garden. EnJOY!
February 14 – Day 41
My friend Dawn is a shortbread cookie maker and decorator extraordinaire! Dawn gave me a pretty little box of her pretty little cookies this Valentine’s weekend. They are almost too pretty to eat but knowing how yummy they are I ate them! I shared one!
February 15 – Day 42
Our mother/daughters lunch and shopping date was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of pretty. Loved the colorful decor at Cargo - so much pretty to see!

February 16 – Day 43
Everything tastes better when eaten from a pretty bowl. I’m loving the colors of my latte bowls from Anthropologie. The best part is – they are only $5.00 each!
February 17 – Day 44
Sunrise – the beginning of another pretty, sunny day here in Portland!

February 18 – Day 45
Look what’s blooming this week!

February 19 – Day 46
I am somewhat lazy when it comes purses. I have a basic black bag that I usually carry everywhere. I have other purses in my closet but I just never seem to get around to changing my purse to go with the season or my outfit. I pretty much stick with basic black. I recently decided that it was just too boring and not too pretty to carry the same old black purse everyday. So I bought a pretty purse and it’s not black! I found the purse on a recent trip to Tai Pan in Utah. I wish I had a dollar for every compliment I have gotten on this purse! A pretty purse!
February 20 – Day 47
I spent part of the weekend in Seattle attending a Creative Memories event. One of the highlight’s of the event was a video clip they showed of Nick Kelsh, a well known photographer. Not only was it very informative – how to take beautiful pictures of your beautiful life but he was quite funny and entertaining too. He inspired me to want to take better pictures. After watching the video I started playing around with my camera in the meeting and took this photo. Not all that pretty but I had fun experimenting with my camera! If you’d like to watch Nick’s great video just click here. It’s well worth your time!
February 21 – Day 48
After spending a day inside a hotel and not getting to enjoy the amazingly beautiful day we were having in the Pacific Northwest I did enjoy this view of Mt. Rainer as we left Seattle to head back to Portland. Not bad for a photo taken from a moving car!

Your photography skills are amazing…you should teach the class!!
Hi Leigh Anne! Love all your pretty pictures; can’t decide which I like best! That purse is fabulous!!! I’m tired of the “traditional” colors and shapes of my purses – I’ve been thinking I may have to try yellow or purple to mix things up a bit for spring!
Leigh Anne, I used to carry a basic black handbag. My first “un black ” purse was an apple green Beijo bag that I still love. The same thing happened-I got so many comments and compliments, that I never went back to my boring bag. I am now carrying my pink bag which I get complimented on nearly every day. It is also a Beijo bag. By the way, I spotted your new bag right away and I can see why you love it!
Love the bowls and that purse…oh my it’s lovely! I enjoyed looking at your pretty week:)
Thank you SO much for sharing that video! I know I am a horrible photographer, and I would like to improve, but I don’t have the time/money/etc. to invest in an actual photography class right now. And I just really didn’t feel like researching it and reading books and stuff. This was just what I needed. Some great tips, simple, and easy to implement. Maybe one day my photos will look as great as yours!
Dawn is the greatest with her shortbread cookies and she always shares with friends and family. I can only wonder how many late nights are attributed to these special cookies. Beautiful and well deserved acknowledgement.
Great pictures for the week! You have a good eye. I’m sure your photography instructor is very happy with your shots. Okay, now I have to
run out and get a new purse. I also fall into the “Always has a black bag” catagory. It’s been haunting me for a while but I still am using it.
Love your pictures and that you are finding the pretty in everything. Great example for me. Love, love, love the purse!
That was a great video on photography. Thanks for sharing.
