College Cookbook Giveaway

by Leigh Anne on September 3, 2009

I am still in recovery mode from our 26 hour round trip road trip to deliver kids to college this week.  Other than a tire blowout while going over 80MPH in the middle of nowhere - somewhere between Idaho and Utah –  all went well. (Cali was driving and she did a great job maintaining control and pulling over!)

Clark is starting his senior year of college – yeah!  He took little sister Tessa to class with him one day.

Logan felt a little strange because he didn’t have a first day of school – instead he has a first day of work.  Here he is all dressed up by his new car ready to start his first day on the job!  So proud of you Logan!!

Cali moved into her first apartment with three friends from her freshman year.  She is now a college sophomore!  We have her kitchen well stocked and now we are just hoping she can figure out how to cook all the food!

To help her along a little I put together Cali’s College Cookbook.  It is a compilation of some of our easier family favorites.  It is a little heavy in the sweet treat section but I remember baking treats was a favorite college activity – especially when there were cute boys involved!

college cookbook

The cookbook says “Lovingly put together by your mother – Eat Well Cali!”

Well I thought maybe there were some of you out there who know someone going off to college this year that might enjoy a copy of Cali’s College Cookbook.  Anybody?

I am having a giveaway for a copy of Cali’s College Cookbook.  If you’d like a chance to win a copy just leave a comment below. Post about the giveaway on your blog, on your Facebook page or Twitter about it and come back and let me know and you’ll get another entry (Make sure to make separate entries)

So leave your comment and good luck!!

Deadline to enter is Tuesday, September 8th, midnight PST.

I have a daughter in college who just moved into a house with three other girls on the lower level of a house. They are so excited. She’s really looking forward to cooking for her roomates and friends. I wish I had thought of and taken the time to pull together a favorite recipe book. She has been calling me and saying “how do you make ’such and such’ mom?” Of course, I love the calls, but I’m sure she would have loved a cookbook.

I, too, have been compiling recipes and food/meal ideas for her. Even got her a crock pot. Your recipes are the best, Leigh Anne, and I know she (and I!) would love trying out your ones for college.

By the way, thanks for your advice about recipes that freeze well. I made your Penne Rustica, froze it in a disposable pan, took it with us in a cooler all the way from California to the Virgin Islands and it was awesome!! Even my very picky 13-yr-old loved it!

77 Angela September 4, 2009 at 9:50 am

How wonderful. I don’t so much know, but I recall calling my mom many a times asking questions about a recipe or how to do something! Right now Andy (hubby) is teaching our nephew Caleb how to make homemade salsa :-) . Great gift for her! Would love to receive a copy!
