Back from Camp and Giveaway Opportunity

I am back from Girl’s Camp and trying to catch up on my sleep.

The adult women really roughed it in our enclosed cabins with showers and toilets and then there were those three meals a day prepared by a full kitchen staff!

We had a great time - lots of fun! If you are interested, I have posted some fun pictures of what my daughter and her friend did for the girls they were counselors over - you can check it out on our family blog.

Also be sure and check out the two DARLING items we are giving away over at iLashGirls.   I love the tote bag I own from Zinney Lou Totes - it is my knitting bag and my girls are drooling over the headband from Just Liv - they both want one!  Be sure and click on over here  to enter to win!

Watch this week for some posts on the herb class I taught for the ladies at church last week - info on how to grow herbs as well as some great herb recipes!!

Mother’s Day Giveaway - Lotus Girl Jewlery

Thanks to all of you who have been sharing something you have learned from your mother after I shared Five Things My Mother Taught Me - it has been so fun and inspirational to read all of them! I know there are a lot more of you still out there who haven’t entered the giveaway yet.

So I went over and entered one of Pioneer Woman’s giveaways the other day and I think I was number 3,252! Seriously!! Yes she will get over 10,000 entries on one of her giveaways!!

I have set a new goal for myself or I guess for you! I would LOVE to have at least 200 entries on my Mother’s Day Giveaway - it would make me smile and make me feel so good! So….if you haven’t entered yet please do so - pretty please!  What’s 200 compared to 10,000!!

If you have entered please send the link to a friend and ask them to enter, for me please! (so can you hear the little whine in my voice?)

Just click here  and scroll down to the end of the post to enter a comment.  The comments are working once again so you shouldn’t have any problems.

I know, I.know, telling your friends about the giveaway makes your chances of winning a little smaller but won’t you do it for me - please.   Maybe we could get more than 200!!!

I know I have a few friends and family that read my blog too and you can enter too!!  And yes mother - that means you!

Pretty please!  You have until Friday, May 9th at midnight PST!

I love supporting women with a homebased business!  Here’s a little more info on April - I am excited for you to get to know her.

april

Born in sunny Arizona, and raised in the Great Northwest since 8 years old … I have always had a deep appreciation for nature, and the environmental beauty that surrounds us.  While growing up, I was constantly sketching, painting, and trying to express my “inner-artist” through any medium that I could get my hands on!  I gravitated towards photography, appreciation of architecture, and abstract artwork … finding the world around me unique and dramatic, determined by different perspectives.  I matured next into a fashion obsessed teenager, and currently as a wife, mother, yoga instructor, volunteer, and business-woman, expressive in my own natural & urban style.
Shortly after ending a 12 year career in banking, I was shopping, (a favorite past-time) and found it hard to find a style of jewelry that spoke to me, which didn’t look “too girly” but had a creative, hip, and yet feminine edge.  So, I thought … why not take my bottled up artistic passion and express it in a way that brought me joy and fulfillment?  I found that as I designed new pieces, my clients would try a piece on, look in the mirror at themselves, and say “I look hot!”  They walked away noticeably feeling more beautiful, and confident.  I love to see that look in their eye, and they are my inspiration!

I desire us all to … embrace our originality, find our flow, not sweat the small stuff … and love & live life to the fullest.

My Mantra: Be Original … Be You … Be Beautiful!

So be sure and share one thing you have learned from you mother in the comment box below for a chance to win both of these beautiful necklaces!

Giveaway Opportunities

There are lots of Giveaway Opportunities over at iLashGirls this week!

Yesterday we had our first MAN on the BLOG!

Dave Dutton has developed an amazing process for discovering your “Given Talent” or gifts.

I have been through his process and my son Logan who is graduating from college next week has also gone through it.

This is what Logan said about the experience:

Working with Dave was a very beneficial experience for me.  It helped me organize my thoughts and realize why I like to do the things I like to do.  After discovering my talents, I was much more focused and determined to find a job where I could put into use my talents.  I wish I could have gone through this process earlier in my college career so it could have had more help in picking a major.  Maybe the most uplifting part of the process was working with Dave and his staff.  They were very positive and  really believed in me and my success.

Dave is giving away a Simply Irresistible Resume Package which includes everything you need to complete your irresistible resume.

Even if you don’t need a resume right now you may know someone who does.  It would make a great graduation gift and it doesn’t hurt to make sure you have a current resume yourself!

I’d love for you to meet Dave and learn more about his amazing process.  Visit him at iLashGirls and don’t forget to enter the giveaway!

And then there is our amazing  Gifts, Gifts, Gifts Giveaway - this week we have four different gifts to giveaway - be sure and enter here!!  We’ve gone Gift crazy!!

Spring Break Reading - Lovely Lemon Giveaway Winner

I am excited to announce that the winner of the Lovely Lemon Giveaway is…

 #4 - Beth

Beth shared a recipe for some yummy lemon bars - she assures me that if you like lemon you are going to love her lemon bars.  I can’t wait to try them.

Beth - email me your mailing info and I’ll get your lemon tools off in the mail!  Congratulations and thanks to everyone who sent me a lemon recipe.  I received 50 recipes so I am going to be busy for a while.

My husband, who doesn’t read my blog regularly, commented at dinner last night “You sure have been into lemons lately!”  He loved the yummy lemon pasta I made though -recipe on Wednesday!!

Thought I’d take a little break from lemon recipes today to share with you my Spring Break reading list.

We spent four days in sunny Arizona laying by the pool during Spring Break and I had 8 different airplane rides so I had a bit of reading time.

Here’s what I read…

1.  Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani
Very Valentine

Loved this delightful book.  I have read all of Adriana Trigiani’s books and this is one of my favorites along with Lucia Lucia and Rococo.

2. Reality Check by Guy Kawasaki
Reality Check

“The Irreverent Guide to Outsmarting, Outmanaging and Outmarketing Your Competition.”  Although I skimmed the first half some great information.

3.  Problogger by Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett
ProBlogger

A great book if you are looking for information on getting started blogging or improving your blog.

4.  In Defense of Food by Michael Pollen
In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto

Pollen’s main message is “Eat food.  Not too much.  Mostly plants.”  He talks about the importance of eating real food (vs. processed, manufactured food), eating food that is in season and locally grown.  Makes me anxious for our Farmer’s Market to start up!

5.  Entre Nous - A Women’s Guide to Finding Her Inner French Girl by Debra Ollivier
Entre Nous: A Woman’s Guide to Finding Her Inner French Girl

When I finished the 3 books I had brought to Arizona my friend Debbie let me borrow two of hers.  This was a fun read.  I agree with the French philosophy to “Find beauty everywhere!”

6.  Things I Want My Daughter to Know by Alexandra Stoddard
Things I Want My Daughters To Know: A Small Book About the Big Issues in Life

I have been an Alexandra Stoddard fan ever since reading Living a Beautiful Life.  My favorite chapter in Things I Want My Daughter to Know was the one on “Packing Heavy”.   Anyone who has ever traveled with me would not be surprised!

And since I am making a list, I have read one book since I’ve been home that I really enjoyed.  Thanks to my friend Brenda for suggesting it.

6. The  Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright
The Wednesday Letters

A quick and enjoyable read about what being a  family is all about, love, forgiveness and redemption.

For those of you who may remember my New Year’s resolution to read 50 books this year, I have read 17 - only 33 more to go!

So what did you read over Spring Break or lately?

Welcome

My number one priority
has been and will always be
my family.
But I also feel strongly
that it is possible
for women to incorporate
all their interests,
goals and ambitions
into a balanced life.
I love working with women and helping to inspire them to achieve their goals and dreams while still maintaining motherhood and family as
their number one priority.
