I am excited to share with you another Buy Handmade Giveaway this week.  Today we are giving away one of my favorite accessories - a purse/bag/tote!!

I’ve got some great “purse stories” to tell too - there was the adventure down a dark alley and basement off of Canal Street in New York as well as the LA flea market where the vendors wouldn’t show us the “good” stuff because they thought our husbands were undercover police officers!! ( It was the sunglasses, khaki pants and polo shirts!)

These totes are darling and are handmade at home by April Ballou of Zinney Lou Totes.

“I have always enjoyed sewing and since I was only blessed with 4 wonderful sons I started sewing purses for myself.  I received so much interest in them that I decided to start offering them to friends and family and the web site just grew from that.  My sweet husband created the entire web site.  From the design to Zinney Lou’s bedroom to helping me name each tote.  Too bad he never had a daughter.  The name Zinney Lou was what my mother would some times call me as a small child.  I offer matching “mommy and me” totes also.     I have been blessed to be a “stay at home” mommy, the only job I ever wanted.

Oh my gosh! The average woman has 6 handbags? I am WAY over average, my favorites include a pink purse and a red purse. I love the colors in the giveaway bag!

6 bags? Geez. I have a diaper bag and a work bag. I just can’t bring myself to buy another bag when I have so many necessities to buy! But, this oh so cute bag could almost count as a necessity? Right?!!! It’d make the cutest church bag and I wouldn’t get there and realize I’d forgotten treats and toys for my 20 month old…again!!!

I have 2 handbags–brown and black and 2 totes that I carry library books in. But oh my goodness none of them are as gorgeous as the one you are giving away!! LOVE the giveaway!

I think that I have 3 purses, hardly ever used just because my main purse is a diaper bag, I have a 2 year old and 16 month old twins. Very stylish, right? So, I could definitely update my purse, these are SUPER cute! Thanks.

I don’t have many purses, because honestly, apple juice or crackers or something usually gets spilled in them! I just de-cluttered my closet and got rid of a few, so as of the moment I have 2 and I could use this cute, cute bag!

I love this bag, it’s so cute! I have a diaper bag, 2 purses (which I hardly ever use because I’m usually carrying the diaper bag), and 2 library tote bags that I use for taking extras for the big kids if I need them for church, meetings, library, etc. 9, huh? I don’t know if I’d be able to keep track of that many!

I’m definitely under average! I have 3. One is my regular purse that I take everywhere, one is my church bag, which carries my lesson stuff and whatever I will need for church for that week, and the third is my big leather tote that I use as a carry on when I fly. Thanks for the offer of such a great gift!

I love that tote! I only have 3 purses right now–I guess I’m more of a shoe gal. I always hate switching all my stuff out and changing purses. My husband will be so proud to know that I am below average!

I can tell you this…Her handbags are GORGEOUS!!!! I am a proud owner of one and I have to tell you this gal can SEW! You’ll want one of these in your collection.

Okay, I admit it–I am way below average when it comes to purse ownership. Currently, I’m using an ugly diaper bag as my purse. However, I think that this tote can double as a diaper bag AND purse. Plus, it is adorable–it even matches my wipe case!

purses…i do love a good bag - and when i find one i like i go for it - but then i stick with it for a LONG time…i have probably 10…my two favorite are classic coach - and i had to have my mom buy them b/c they were too pricey for me!

I am above average and probably have a dozen bags. These colors are so great. This would match my new double stroller in aqua and brown for such a great diaper bag! Love it!

Oh, good I am not the only one that has only a few bags… I thinkI have about 4-5? I love that tote! Your bags are just too cute… and what can I say about polka dots?! Who doesn’t like polka dots!

I would love the tote. I actually only have 1 purse, and it’s really a tote/sling that I wear, and has everything I need. It was stollen a year ago, but found (minus the good stuff) which I was so grateful. I need some more to add to my small purse collection.

Well, this is kind of embarassing, but as of right now I have ZERO purses. I carried a diaper bag for so many years that I didn’t need one. My youngest outgrew the diaper bag long ago, but I have yet to find a purse/bag that works for me. I could really, really use this adorable tote!

Let’s see..I have 8 right now. I recently went to a Vera Bradley outlet sales so depending on home many of those I keep…might have some more. I used to keep a purse until I wore it out but now I change every few weeks…it’s fun!

I have 8 bags, and they are all very different. One is for church, one for when i’m going to be running errands all day so I need to pack the entire house to keep my toddler busy/quite, one for date night with husband (that one is dusty), and the rest need to go to Goodwill (hand-me-downs from mother). Hey- thanks for your sweet comment on my blog- it was really nice of you! well, I want to enter the tote give away too! I am really humiliated to admit that I have one bag/tote. The worst part of it is that I got it after the birth of my 9 year old! I know that sounds horendous, and I have tried to get a new one, i just haven’t found one that I like as much. It is all about functionality at this point in my life with having a large family and the pockets on my old one are perfect for what I need with me! Luckily- it still looks fine and I really don’t think anyone would ever guess it is 9 years old, but it is and somehow I feel like I need to NOT be o.k. with that. On the other hand, I AM o.k. with it because I love my purse! I hope I win- a new tote would be very cute!

I am below average on the purses, but “totes” are another story. This is one of the few areas where my five year old and I are well connected. She has just as many and I do, and loves them more than I! We are also sharing the love with my two year old. We will have to arm wrestle for this one.

I love to switch my bags/totes out seasonally. Each one has meaning to me. My favorite has almost worn out (after 19 years). Then, when I’m feeling impulsive, I switch to a happy tote from West Africa given to me by a dear friend. This is my first contest entry. I hope there are totes to match at Zinney Lou, cause my daughter would love to match Mommy.
