Utah Restaurants and Weekend Recap

Home Sweet Home! Posting has been a bit light this week because I spent the last 10 days in Utah enjoying the company of my four kids and other family members (Thank you Emily and Wynn for putting up with me that long!!)  Tessa and I are home now and I’m glad to be sleeping in my own bed.  Didn’t realize how much I missed green. When we pulled into the driveway after our long drive this is what we found! How cute is that !  Jim worked hard while [Continue Reading…]

Lemon, Fruit and Spinach Salad

Lemon and Fruit Spinach Salad

Since I started the week out with a lemon recipe – pink lemonade cupcakes, I thought I would just keep up the lemon trend. You know what a fan of lemon I am. Today’s recipe is a  Lemon, Fruit and Spinach Salad that my daughter had at a friends.  She came home raving about it and brought the recipe with her!  I’ve trained her well. The weather is getting warmer here in Portland (although I’m enjoying the warm weather in Utah right now) and some days it feels like summer [Continue Reading…]

I do love to throw a party.  I think baby and bridal showers are two of my favorite parties to throw.  I love celebrating a bride to be and a new mommy.  No one deserves a party more than a new mommy! Especially a mommy who is having her fifth baby!  Especially a mommy who is having her first girl after four boys.  I think she may deserve more than a party!! Today I am throwing a virtual baby shower for one of my blogging friends who is doing just [Continue Reading…]

Utah and Weekend Recap

Jim and I drove to Utah this weekend.  Jim was kind enough to take off a few days of work so I didn’t have to drive myself and perhaps not arrive in one piece.  He enjoyed a few days with the kids, golfing with the boys, visiting some old friends and has returned home.  I’ll be driving back to Portland the end of the week.   The drive is worth it because I am bringing one of my kiddos back home with me! We also got to enjoy this at [Continue Reading…]

Sausage and Egg Stack

Egg & Sausage Stack

I love breakfast for dinner, especially since I am not a big breakfast for breakfast girl. My body is just not quite ready to eat first thing in the morning, it prefers breakfast in the liquid form.  As a kid I lived on one of those chocolate drink mixes for breakfast and nowadays I enjoy my green smoothie my husband makes for me every morning.  Got to get my veggies. But breakfast for dinner is perfect.  Today’s recipe is one of those “clean out the refrigerator” kind of recipes.  It [Continue Reading…]

Fresh Tomato and Chicken Pasta

Fresh Tomato and Chicken Pasta

Pasta is a standby meal at our house. Whenever I can’t think of what to fix for dinner, pasta usually comes to the rescue. All you really need are some noodles or pasta(I used nice big fat, egg noodles this time), some meat (chicken or sausage usually), some vegetables (fresh chopped tomatoes, onion and tomato paste), some liquid (chicken broth) and some other seasonings (garlic, Italian seasoning, Dijon mustard and parsley) and of course a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese – Fresh Tomato and Chicken Pasta for dinner! The sauce can [Continue Reading…]

Marshmallow Popcorn

Marshmallow Popcorn

I, like many of you, have a new addiction. That addiction is called Pinterest. I now have more ideas and more recipes pinned than I could use in two lifetimes! My goal is to try at least one recipe I have pinned each week. I have found though that the comments on Pinterest don’t always hold true. It’s a little bit of a risk when you try something you’ve pinned. I found that the Melt in Your Mouth Chicken did not melt in my mouth. It actually did nothing in [Continue Reading…]

Thanks to all of you who helped bring some smiles to the families at the Ronald McDonald House by sending a photo through eSmiles!
