Mary-Poppins-Bert_0001-333x500

Jim and I don’t usually dress up for Halloween but somebody at our house needed to dress up!  So we won by default! One day I was browsing on Pinterest.  What did we do before Pinterest??!?!  Well, I saw this darling idea for a Halloween costume and I knew we just had to dress up this year.  Fortunately we were invited to a costume party!  Thank you Denise. Here we are – Mary Poppins and Bert.   I managed to put both of our costumes together with items we already [Continue Reading…]

Halloweenie Roast}2011

Halloweenie Roast 2011

Our annual neighbor Halloweenie Roast was Friday night.  I am thankful for neighbors who let me borrow their kids (the parents were invited too.)   It just makes me happy.  My husband is grateful too.  He prefers it when I’m happy! I pulled out my trusty old framed chalkboard and Halloween pennant banner.  My fun little black bird cut outs came from the Dollar Store. I reused a lot of the things from last years Halloweenie Roast 2010 so set up was pretty easy.  I just basically pulled out all [Continue Reading…]

Crock Pot Chicken Tortilla Soup

Crock Pot Tortilla Soup

Soup is the traditional Halloween night meal at our house.  A nice warm bowl of homemade soup before the trick or treaters head out into the chilly night. Except this year, there won’t be any trick or treaters leaving our house only coming to our house. But Jim and I are dressing up but don’t worry, we’re not going trick or treating.  We never dress up but we are this year!  Can’t wait to show you how cute we are. And we will still be having soup for dinner. Halloween [Continue Reading…]

Halloween Popcorn with Orange and Dark Chocolate

halloween popcorn

My love of creamsicle and white chocolate took over today.  I decided I needed.  That would be NEEDED to make some Halloween Popcorn.  The first version I made and shared a few years ago is white chocolate popcorn with candy corn.  I think I could eat anything if it was covered in white chocolate and had candy corn in it.  Maybe even a potato!  (For those of you new to the blog, I do not eat potatoes!) I wanted the new Halloween Popcorn to look Halloweenie so I figured I [Continue Reading…]

Trick or Treat Bags

Trick or Treat Bag

I am in Utah this weekend visiting the kids and seeing Cali’s show – The Hundred Dresses at BYU.  We are lucky to have lots of family in the area so I always have somewhere to stay since staying in a college apartment isn’t always the best choice!  This time I will get to see some of my favorite little people – 3 of my  nieces and nephews!  Often I like to take a little treat or gift along with me. When I saw these cute trick or treat bags [Continue Reading…]

Tate's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Did you know that October is National Cookie Month?  I think every month should be National Cookie Month.  I love cookies.  I especially love a good chocolate chip cookie.  It is always my first choice. When I was contacted by Tate’s Bake Shop and asked if I’d like to sample their Whole Wheat  Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies I of course said yes.  I was intrigued by the combination of the whole wheat and dark chocolate. I had heard of Tate’s Bake Shop, based in Southampton, NY  but never had [Continue Reading…]
