Mississippi Mud Brownies

Mississippi Mud Brownies

I love the combination of chocolate and marshmallow. I was recently sent a box of Betty Crocker’s new Mississippi Mud brownie mix  from Betty Crocker through MyBlogSpark.  I must admit I don’t like too many things that come out of box but boxed brownies are one thing I like. I made them up the night after I got back from girl’s camp because I was craving something chocolate and easy.  I have to admit I think I ate half of the pan myself.  We ate them warm with a scoop [Continue Reading...]

Travel Wardrobe Update

boothe

Several of you have asked so I thought I’d give you a travel wardrobe update.  A follow up to my Travel Wardrobe post I did before my trip to London/Paris. I am not a light packer so I was very proud of myself when my suitcase only weighed 30 lbs.   That was on the way to Europe – we won’t talk about how much it weighed on the way home and the fact that we had to buy another suitcase in London in order to get all our things home.  [Continue Reading...]

French Crepes}the real thing

crepes

Of course one of the top things on my “What to do while in Paris” list was to eat a real French crepe. Well, that wasn’t too hard.  In fact, I ate numerous French crepes.  There are crepe stands on every corner.  As we made our way over to Notre Dame we decided we needed a little snack so we picked up a crepe. It was so fun to watch the crepe maker and he loved having his picture taken.  We chose a Nutella and banana crepe (I picked the [Continue Reading...]

June 21 – Day 169 Tessa and I are off to church girl’s camp.  I am one of the craft ladies along with my friend Nanette.  Don’t we look cute in our craft lady aprons I made for us.  Nothing beats a pretty apron! June 22 – Day 170 Pretty colorful buttons waiting to be used in one of the crafts. June 23 – Day 171 I loved how pretty the life jackets looked all hanging in a row. June 24 – Day 174 Lots of pretty paper waiting to [Continue Reading...]

Potato Skins:Ree & Leigh{Anne}

potato skins

Note:  I’ll be back home from girl’s camp tomorrow.  I am sure I will be glad to sleep in my own bed after a week on a bunk bed and a sleeping bag!  I’m sure I’ll have some photos to share! My men love potato skins and so do my girls. In fact they have been a standard part of our Christmas Eve menu for decades! Well, when I saw the recipe for potato skins in Pioneer Women Cooks I knew they were not just for Christmas Eve any more.  [Continue Reading...]

Camp Crafts}Collage Blocks and Decorative Clothes Pins

9-ornaments-p

When we were planning out our crafts for camp we were working with a limited budget.  We were planning on 200 girls and have about a dollar a day for each girl and each craft. I think we did pretty good.  We were able to make really good use of our paper and cut everything we needed for all four crafts from just two sheets of paper per girl! For day three at camp we will be making these cute collage blocks. I don’t have any pictures of the actual [Continue Reading...]

Red, White and Blue Cookie Bark

Cookie bark

Yes, I did it.  One more cookie bark. I think I now have a full years worth of holiday cookie barks. I couldn’t let the Fourth of July go by without it’s own version of cookie bark. I love the Fourth of July. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my ancestors came over on the Mayflower and I have relatives that fought in the Revolution War but I love America!! We usually spend the Fourth of July at the Oregon Coast with a bonfire and s’mores [Continue Reading...]

Camp Crafts}Camp Journals and Washer Necklaces

Camp Craft Ideas

It’s Monday and I am headed off to our church’s girls camp this week.  I won’t have access to a computer or internet so if you leave a comment or a question I will get back to you as soon as I am home again.  Thanks for your patience. Please pray for me.  With only one day home to recover from my trip to Europe I am praying the jet lag isn’t bad and I can function! I am excited to be at camp this year as it is my [Continue Reading...]

Where do I begin?! I am home for a brief 40 hours before I head out to our church Girls Camp for the week early Monday morning where I am helping with the crafts.  Thank goodness for melatonin which is amazing.  I have not had any jet lag at all! Cali and I had an amazing time in London and Paris and I can’t wait to share it all with you. We were surrounded by pretty on a daily, hourly basis.  But for right now I will just tease you [Continue Reading...]
